Ostra – Palazzo dei Frati Conventuali

Annexed to the Church of San Francesco, it was built in the 18th century as a Conventual Franciscan Friars monastery. Today it is home to the municipal library which conserves valuable incunabula as well as a rare edition of Manzoni’s “The Betrothed” dating back to 1827. The historic archive contains interesting parchments dating back to the 13th century.The Civic art gallery contains a beautiful painting by Francesco Perrier.

Ospita attualmente la biblioteca comunale che custodisce preziosi incunaboli e una rara edizione dei “Promessi Sposi” del 1827.L’archivio storico che  comprende interessanti pergamene dei XIII sec.La pinacoteca civica con un bel dipinto di Francesco Perrier.

Trecastelli – The Malatesta tower

The most important and representative monument is located inside the castle. It underwent two extensive reconstruction operations which have restored its original 15th century architecture. The epigraph dedicated to Vittoria Colonna is located beneath the arch, to the right. The site is characterised by numerous underground passages, part of which still exist, used to build an air raid shelter during the Second World War. Trecastelli – Torre Malatestiana

Situata all’interno del castello, è il monumento più importante e rappresentativo. E’ stata oggetto di due importanti restauri, che l’hanno riportata alle originali architetture quattrocentesche. Sotto l’arco, nel lato destro, è presente la targa in marmo con l’epigrafe dedicata a Vittoria Colonna. La località è caratterizzata da diversi sotterranei, una parte di essi è ancora esistente ed è stata utilizzata per costruire il rifugio antiaereo durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Corinaldo – The Polenta Well

Located in the middle of Via La Piaggia, it was erected by the tyrant of Corinaldo, Antonello Accattabriga, in the latter half of the 15th century, to supply neighbouring homes. It was buried when the staircase was restructured in the early 20th century, only to be reconstructed in 1980 as a venue for the Dispute of the Polenta Well, an annual re-enactment of the fall of the legendary sack of flour into the well. Ostra Vetere – Terra di Montenovo Museum Centre

Located in the former Santa Lucia convent which was home to nuns of the Order of St. Claire from the late Middle Ages to the 19th century. It was purchased by the Municipality of Ostra Vetere in 1999 and was restructured as part of a project for its functional reuse and partial allocation as a cultural container. Located in the house in which the Master and his wife, Celeste Erard, erected in view of their definitive return to Maiolati.
