Filottrano – Il Cusanino

Il sopranista del “più perfetto stile di canto”” Filottrano, AN 1700 – 1760 Fra i cantanti castrati che, nel ‘700, fecero impazzire i palcoscenici d’Europa un posto di rilievo spetta senz’altro al celebre sopranista e contraltista Giovanni Carestini, il “Cusanino”. Nato a Filottrano il 13 dicembre 1700, sin da bambino meravigliò per la sua voce bellissima, da qui la decisione dei genitori di farlo diventare cantante evirato. Trecastelli- Io ho bisogno di parole

Al Museo Nori De’ Nobili di Trecastelli uno spettacolo in Omaggio ad Alda Merini con digressione su Nori De’ Nobili Venerdì 31 agosto 2018, alle ore 21.15, nel Giardino del Villino Romualdo e del Museo Nori De’ Nobili di Trecastelli si terrà lo spettacolo “…IO HO BISOGNO DI PAROLE – Omaggio ad Alda Merini con digressione su Nori De’ Nobili”. Jesi – Studio for Printing Arts

The museum is located in the 16th century “Pianetti vecchio” building, in a spacious and luminous hall, a suggestive and visually gratifying setting, where printing presses and equipment from various ages are on display, together with rare and fine books. The museum itinerary highlights and develops two aspects which characterised the invention that changed the history of human knowledge: printing devices and books as an end product. It was opened in 2000 to document the city’s long-standing printing tradition. Federico de’Conti was the Marche region’s first printer and printed one of the earliest editions of the Divine Comedy.

Montecarotto – The Clock Tower

Linked to another tower by an indoor walkway levelled with the chemin de ronde. It was clad and adorned in 1903, when part of the wall, ancient entrance gate and the civic tower were demolished. The public clock was originally positioned in the latter. A door along the chemin de ronde leads to the upper floor which houses the clock face, the connection rod, pendulum and original weights for manual hand charging. Montecarotto – Torre dell’Orologio

E’ collegato ad un altro torrione da un percorso coperto a quota del camminamento di ronda. Venne rivestito ed ornato nelle forme attuali nel 1903 quando fu abbattuta una parte delle mura con l’antica porta di accesso e la torre civica su cui originariamente era posto l’orologio pubblico. Attraverso una porta posta sul camminamento di ronda, si può accedere al piano superiore, dove è custodito il quadrante dell’orologio, l’asta di collegamento, il pendolo e i pesi originali per la ricarica manuale delle lancette. Ostra – The walls and towers

During the 14th century there were three in total: Porta del Mercato (Gate of the Market) to the south; Porta Santa Croce to the north and Porta Nuova (New Gate) to the east. The latter was closed in the early 15th century and was probably located at today’s entrance to the town. In the latter half of the 19th century the remaining gates – of the Market and of “Santa Croce” – were permanently destroyed due to building transformations. Ostra – Le mura e le torri

La notte l’accesso al paese era possibile solo attraverso i ponti levatoi e le rispettive porte. Nel XIV secolo queste erano tre: Porta del Mercato a sud; Porta S. Croce a nord e Porta Nuova ad est.Questa ultima porta fu chiusa sul principio del 1400 ed era sita con tutta probabilità, all’altezza dell’attuale accesso al paese. Poi, nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento, la trasformazione edilizia distrusse per sempre ed irreparabilmente anche le due Porte superstiti, quella “del Mercato” e quella “di S. Ostra – Palazzo dei Frati Conventuali

Annexed to the Church of San Francesco, it was built in the 18th century as a Conventual Franciscan Friars monastery. Today it is home to the municipal library which conserves valuable incunabula as well as a rare edition of Manzoni’s “The Betrothed” dating back to 1827. The historic archive contains interesting parchments dating back to the 13th century.The Civic art gallery contains a beautiful painting by Francesco Perrier.  

Ostra – Palazzo dei Frati Conventuali

Annesso alla chiesa di San Francesco, fu costruito nel XVIII sec. come sede dei Padri Francescani Conventuali. Ospita attualmente la biblioteca comunale che custodisce preziosi incunaboli e una rara edizione dei “Promessi Sposi” del 1827.L’archivio storico che  comprende interessanti pergamene dei XIII sec.La pinacoteca civica con un bel dipinto di Francesco Perrier.

Trecastelli – The Malatesta tower

The most important and representative monument is located inside the castle. It underwent two extensive reconstruction operations which have restored its original 15th century architecture. The epigraph dedicated to Vittoria Colonna is located beneath the arch, to the right. The site is characterised by numerous underground passages, part of which still exist, used to build an air raid shelter during the Second World War. The parish church probably dates back to the Della Rovere age and contains a painting of Madonna with Child, attributed to Gaetano Lapis da Cagli, as well as a finely carved wooden crucifix.
